From its modest beginnings in a villa in 1961, St Christopher’s has grown into a large, internationally renowned, non-profit making school with over 2300 students from more than seventy nations. These children and young people, from three to eighteen years of age, benefit from the excellence, dedication and hard work of our teachers and support staff who together form a team dedicated to the creation and maintenance of an environment in which each student can learn effectively.

Abdul Rahman Kanoo International School (ARKIS) is a co-educational and bilingual school in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Currently more than 2200 students are enrolled at ARKIS. Abdul Rahman Kanoo International School is the 1st school in Bahrain to receive joint accreditation from CIS (Council of International School) and NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges). One of the major characteristics that distinguish ARKIS is the belief in contributing positively to the development of the local and international community. Talent International & The Infant School, licensed by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain offers a first class English National curriculum for primary, intermediate and secondary pupils of ages 3 months to 18 years old. We aim to provide a friendly and family-like environment, making our students feel welcomed and thus attend school willingly.

Established in 1971 as a preschool, Talent International continued to grow along with its students. We have continually catered for our higher stage students and recently opened our Day Care unit for children starting 3 months old. Our first branch in Riffa was opened in 1988 and is operating on the same basis as the main branch. The school aims at preparing students for the Cambridge IGCSE /AS and A- levels, at the end of Grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 as well as internal secondary school exams. The school is recognized as an official Edexcel learning and examination center as well as a Cambridge Associate school.

One of the attributes of Al Raja is its reputation for rigorous academics, which has lasted over the past 100 years. We are excited about what our students learn, how they learn it, and where it takes them after Al Raja School. We are a school that is grounded in the Arabic language giving students a firm foundation in the language of their home as well as being thoroughly prepared for attending universities abroad. Graduates have gone on to a number of universities: University of Bahrain, Georgetown University in Qatar, American University of Sharjah, University College London and other universities in Bahrain and around the world. AL Mahd Day Boarding School (AMDBS) began in October 1997 with 40 students and two villas. Today we have three full-fledged campuses in Saar, Samaheej and East Riffa and over 2500 students. In 2004, the school was awarded International Center Status by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), of Cambridge University, which is one of the world’s leading providers of educational qualifications and assessments. This status reflects the quality of teaching and the high standards of administration demonstrated throughout the school. The school has a dedicated, experience and well qualified professional team of administrators, teachers and support staff. Our mission is to produce model citizens who know how to use their knowledge for the benefit of their community, country and humanity. ​

Hawar International School (HIS) was established in 2001 by a group of dedicated Bahraini professionals wishing to provide a bilingual education of excellence from Nursery and KG to Grade 12 in a learner-friendly environment while preserving the culture and heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic society. As well as the American and Arabic Curriculum, HIS aims to provide special needs education and facilities for students with physical and learning needs to help support them during their education. HIS aims to ensure that each pupil gets a well-rounded education that will equip them for the challenges faced in the world today and for tomorrow. The school follows the American curriculum based on the Virginia State standards of education for all English subjects. For Arabic subjects, the school follows the standards set by the Bahrain Ministry of Education.

In the KG section, there is a 50/50 split between Arabic and English subjects allowing for literacy and numeracy in both languages. The KG2 follows the Ministry of Bahrain curriculum for Arabic subjects whilst this English program is based on the standards set by the State of Virginia.

Elementary students study Arabic Language, Arabic Social Studies, Islamic Studies, English, Maths and Science. Lessons are also taken in Art, French, PE and ICT. Students in Grades 1-3 also study Mandarin Chinese.

Middle School students study Arabic Language, Arabic Social Studies, Islamic Studies, English, Maths, Science and Social Studies. Lessons are also taken in Art, French, PE and ICT.

High School students study Arabic Language, Arabic Social Studies, Islamic Studies, English, Maths, Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and Social Studies including Business Studies and Economics. Lessons are also taken in PE and ICT and in Grade 12 students are prepared for university with a Careers Education Development Program (CEDP).

Bahrain School is the only DoDEA school in the Persian Gulf area. The closest DoDEA school to Bahrain School is George C. Marshall School in Ankara, Turkey. It provides education primarily to the children of the United States Navy stationed in Bahrain, but historically, about half of the student body has been local enrollment, usually the dependents of diplomatic personnel and ARAMCO employees, as well as Bahraini citizens. The Navy dependent population declined in July 2004 when dependents were sent home due to security concerns. In July 2009, dependents were again authorized to return to Bahrain.

As of 2013, there were 435 total students enrolled in both the middle and high schools, with 69% of the students in grades 10 to 12. 57% of the students at the time were American citizens, with the remaining 43% representing approximately 68 countries.

Campus
The campus accommodates students from Nursery to Year 13 in three buildings. Our staff and school community comprises of over 30 different nationalities working collaboratively and cooperatively together.

The school campus is comprised of a central villa (Block A) that houses 10 Pre-school classes and administration offices. The school has an art room for middle and high school students, staff room, main reception and an outdoor stage situated in the middle of Block A.

The villa (Block A) is connected to a newly built elementary building that has 19 classes, an art room and ICT laboratory, and three administration offices. The middle and high school building (Block B) consists of 24 classes with three admin offices, two science laboratories and a server room. The school library links the multipurpose hall where Store Offices are housed in addition to the middle and high school ICT laboratory (Block C).

The school has good sized classrooms equipped with maximum of 27 students in each class, ventilated windows, and a good indoor play area facilities for Pre-school (Block A) and well equipped outdoor playground for the higher grades. AWS has regular successful visits from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Interior in order to validate the school’s practices. Most of the classes are equipped with projectors or interactive boards to promote and instill skills in technology.

Al Majd Private School, situated in the vibrant neighborhood of Bilad Al Qadeem in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has been a beacon of quality education since its establishment in September 2004. Founded by the visionary and passionate Ms. Naima Al Mahdi, the school began with a modest enrollment of around 60 students.

Over the years, Al Majd Private School has witnessed remarkable growth and development. In the academic year 2005-06, the middle school section, catering to students in year 7 and year 8, was introduced. This expansion was met with great enthusiasm from the community, leading to a steady increase in enrollment.

In 2009, the school expanded its facilities with the establishment of Sunflower House, an extension of Al Majd. With two campuses combined, the school now educates approximately 500 students, who benefit from the school’s commitment to providing a nurturing and conducive learning environment.
